Memorablia

8th ECCP Football Cup
Dated 29th of June 2014: The Teams first exposure was during the 8th ECCP Football Cup
(8th European Chamber of Commerse  in the Philippines - Football Cup - Don Bosco Technological Center, Cebu City.)
This was the first ever photo we had together (15 team members,).
The pioneers to say. We barely knew each other here. Some of us were yet total strangers.
Taken just after our last game against Convergys. Defeated but encouraged to strive and be driven to practice and improve more; the sweaty and smiling faces justifies it all. Bunos na lang ang mga big tummies.. Lusog-Busog (.^__^.)v

Group-Back Pic

GROUPIE: This was a candid shot, credits to Mr. Glenn Paul Abong who captured our team's moment. Who would forget, when all teams were advised to show their synchronized warm-up routines, we ran back towards our dug-out to rest..lol!
This shot could have meant more if it was a complete group-back pic.. (.^__^.)
Anyways, we really did look good in that blue jerseys and red socks! All fresh and clean; Not knowing we'll be eating dust and diving on land ahead..haha Awa lang ninyo diha kinsa pinaka-excited sa tanan magduwa... kana man siguro ang naka jersey # 28 jud..heheh (.^__^.)v

Day1 : MEZUFA Football Cup

Dated 10th of August 2014: The Teams second exposure was during the MEZUFA Football Cup
( Mactan Economic Zone United Football Association Football Cup ) held at Mactan AirBase.
Three new members were added to our line-up; Ms. Joannalyn Gulle, Ms. Jane Seiton, both from COB Division and Ms. Miesal Barcenilla of MAT Division. This was a bitter-sweet moment  to remember. We were qualified for the Championships! Amidst being left alone without a team coach and manager to guide us, we managed to get through tough opponents who were far more better and skilled than us. Motivated by the last Cup's (ECCP Cup) adversities; contained with the spirit of unity and team work, we emerge as one of the qualifiers for the finals.

FCB - Women’s Football Club wins 2nd Runner Up in MEZUFA Football Cup

FCB - Women’s Football Club wins 2nd Runner Up in MEZUFA Football Cup

(Topleft : Mr. C. Kurita, R. Espina, J. Gulle, C. Jopia, J.Niez, M. Mabunay, J. TaƱo, M. Barcenilla, G. Matulac, M. Labagala
 BottomLeft : L. Balasabas, J. Besario, A. Papalid, F. Paragoso, A. Rossel and C. Dagatan)

Founded and established on June 2014.

The team came into existence through the initiative of Mr. Chiharu Kurita (The FCB-Football Club Team Manager), and the undying effort of Mr. Mark Dexter Labagala (The FCB-WFC Coach who is likewise the FCB-MFC Team Captain) . Spearheaded by Gellie Matulac, the team debuted in joining  the 8th ECCP Football Cup held at Don Bosco Technological Center in Cebu City last June 29, 2014. It was an unfortunate event for a team comprised by a bunch of beginners. BUT motivated by such adversity, the FCB Football Club Women’s Team had its taste of vindication in joining and emerging as the 2nd Runner up (3rd Placer) in the recently concluded MEZUFA Football Cup held at Mactan Airbase in Lapu-lapu City last August 10, 17 and 31, 2014.

The team had a 2Win - 1Loss standing on the qualifying round held on the 2nd day of the cup – 17th of August.

They were defeated on their first game against Lexmark by a 1-0 score but made their way back on their succeeding games against Fairchild and Timex where Annalyn Rossel (of MIC Div.) and Claudine Dagatan (of COB Div.) both contributed a goal score respectively, thus, winning the games and qualifying the team for the finals.

The Championship round was a rainy and muddy struggle for the ladies who fought against very worthy opponents. Obtaining a 2Losses (against Lexmark and Lear) - 1Draw (against NKC) standing after the round robin, they battled with all their hearts on their 4th game against NKC-Team for the 2nd Runner -up title where they scored 2 goals made by again Claudine Dagatan and Miesal Barcenilla (of MAT Div.), which gave them the victory.

The ladies offer this success to the company’s management who have ever been very supportive to their needs.

Body pains, skinned knees, sprained ankles and bruised muscles were compensated with great pride.

“Individual talent wins games, Team work and unity wins championships.”

Too close to being the champions... Surely, they’ll nail it next time!

CONGRATULATIONS FCB- Women’s Football Club!

FIRST LMC FOOTBALL CUP

UPLIFTING FOOTBALL SPIRIT IN THE COMPANY

Summoned by the LMC Council, the first ever Mitsumi Football Cup was realized and staged at CTU-Oval, Danao City, last October 5, 2014.
With the cooperation of the Cebu Mitsumi Football Club members and participated by both Japanese and local employees, the event was a SUCCESS!

The Japanese Team was hailed as the Champions of the Men’s Category with a 2Win-1Draw standing against the ADMIN/PTD/PMD Team (1st Runner-up) with 2Wins-1Draw, the CCMI Team (2nd Runner-up) with 1Win-2Losses and the MAT Team with 2Losses-1Draw standing.

On the other hand, the Women’s Category was dominated by the CCMI Team with a 1Win-3Draws standing against the ADMIN/PTD/PMD Team (1st Runner-up) with a 1Win-2Draws-1Loss and the MAT Team (2nd Runner-up) with 1Win-1Draw-2Loss standing .

In the end, though this event was merely a speck of the grand scheme of the company’s annual LMC Sport Fest activities, Football, like any other ballgame, radiated the spirit of sportsmanship, unity and teamwork packed with the hype of exaggerated fun and friendship shared and built not only with local employees but with the Japanese personnel as well; exactly what makes it so vibrant and interesting!
